The benefits of a national chain with
the attention of an on-site owner.
Most child care centers make you choose between the benefits of a national chain (with
frequently updated curriculum, intense quality control, and frequent staff training) and
the personal attention and flexibility of an on-site owner/operator. At Kiddie
Academy of Greenbelt, a locally-owned franchise of Kiddie Academy International, you get the
best of both worlds!

Owned and managed by education professionals.
The school is owned and operated by Scott and Patricia Soffen. Scott
has both a Masters degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Business
Administration. Prior to joining Kiddie Academy, he was a Wall Street
analyst covering the for-profit education industry. Patricia has a
undergraduate degree in education and is a certified teacher who has taught in
the public school systems in Wisconsin and New Jersey. We are proud to
have Altovese Spivey as our Director. Altovese has a BA degree in
Early Childhood Education and is expected to earn her MA degree in Early
Childhood Education in December 2010.
We also have the entire Kiddie
Academy national team to call on as needed, including Ruby Martin,
Kiddie
Academy's Director of Education, who has a Masters Degree in Education and
invaluable experience.

Teachers with higher
credentials.
While regulators require that teachers complete a 90-hour workshop to be
licensed, we hold our teachers to a higher standard. Our teachers must
hold or be working toward a CDA (Child Development Associate credential
awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional
Recognition).
Many of our teachers hold associates or bachelors degrees.

An outstanding curriculum.
Our school-day is careful balance of planned activities, playtime, and rest,
that is carefully crafted for each age group. Please take the time to
review our detailed curriculum (it is available in our front office).
The curriculum incorporates multiple teaching philosophies and is finely
tuned to be developmentally appropriate. Simply put, we believe it is
the best in the industry.

Hot lunches and nutritious
snacks.
We understand your hectic schedule and the value of your time. Parents
exhausted after a full day's work should use their remaining energy to play
with their children, not to make lunch for the next day. Our program
incorporates two snacks and a hot lunch, and emphasizes fruits and
vegetables. We leave the sweets for special occasions.

Open when you need us.
The center is open 6:30AM to 6:30PM, Monday through Friday. We are
closed on only the six major holidays, and rarely close due to weather.
|
 |
No hidden fees.
There is no recurring annual registration fee. The summer program's
tuition includes the cost of T-shirts, field trips, and special events.

We understand your hesitancy...
The decision to leave your children in the care of others is perhaps among the most
stressful decisions a family makes. Rest assured, we understand your concerns, and
have structured our centers to make the transition from home care to school-care as smooth
as possible. Each of our classrooms has a television camera in it, so you can watch
how your child is adapting to his or her new environment from our director's office.
Each day, you'll receive a daily report on what your child enjoyed and activities
took place. Academic research
consistently demonstrates that quality child care is as beneficial to children as a
full-time stay at home Mom, and we offer that level of care.
